Tanya (Artzi Stuff) and Nadia (Pachena Coastal Clothing) screen-print T-shirts for men and women. Sizes range from small to 2XL for women, and small to XL for men. The 70% bamboo 30% organic cotton fabric is dyed, woven, and sewn into T-shirts in Ontario, and we both do the printing here in Nanaimo.
Nadia screenprints bamboo/cotton scarves, and Tanya hand-dyes 100% silk scarves before printing them. Tanya uses a variety of printing methods such as block printing, stencilling, screen printing, and printing with dried leaves and other found objects.
We carry several dress options in the Summer, and fewer in the Winter. We may just keep some of the summer dresses on-hand during the winter though, for people doing their holiday shopping or who are planning to get away to somewhere warmer than the West Coast!
Our ponchos are made from an amazing long-lasting fabric blend of modal, bamboo, cotton, and lycra. Nadia screen prints them with her unique coastal designs. These are perfect for our Island climate, as they’re so easy to pull on and off as the weather changes (or maybe as hot flashes come and go). They look classy even when paired with comfy leggings or jeans.
Our bamboo hoodies by Pachena Coastal Clothing are more like pull-over shirts with a generous hood rather than a jacket. They are very popular, and come in sizes small to 2XL.
Our leggings are made of bamboo and a bit of lycra for stretch. They're silky soft and come in a variety of colours and designs, with sizes ranging from x-small to x-large.
Pachena screen prints a variety of bamboo tops that we happily carry in our shop. Dolman sleeves, 3/4 sleeves, cropped, sweatshirts, tank tops, one size – the styles vary from month to month.
Elizabeth, our part-time employee, fashions these wonderful handbags out of leftover scraps of fabric. The fabric is too pretty to waste, so she uses it for bag bodies, trim, and even tiny gift bags for jewelry depending on what she has left!
We often carry a selection of handmade booties and hats that are so cute it’s a little ridiculous. Made by Suzanne, these crocheted, leather-soled baby booties and cotton hats are perfect for newborns and up to 24-ish months.
We carry wallets, coin purses, pencil cases and a variety of zippered bags made in Crofton, BC by Clare McKinnon. An avid biker, Clare fashions these one-of-a-kind items out of upcycled bicycle inner tubes and leftover scraps of colorful upholstery vinyl.
